SEATS 2026

South East Asian Thoracic Society (SEATS)

The South East Asian Thoracic Society (SEATS) represents all ASEAN countries. The term SEATS was coined to combine the identity of ASEAN with the field of thoracic surgery.

The society’s primary objective is to enhance the standard of education and training in thoracic surgery. It also seeks to support the development of thoracic surgery in less-developed partners among ASEAN nations and also help in developing the field of minimally invasive thoracic surgery that is seen as par with the rest of the world.

SEATS aims to foster collaboration among member countries in research and development, with the goal of improving the quality of surgical care for patients in all aspects of thoracic surgery.

MLCC 2026

The National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS)

The National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS) is the national specialty centre for tertiary cancer care. In addition to offering holistic and multidisciplinary oncology care and treatments, our clinicians and scientists collaborate with local and international partners to conduct robust, cutting-edge clinical and translational research.

NCCS offers patients hope of cancer-free tomorrow by having the best people, providing the best care, doing the best research and leading cancer education.

Division of Medical Oncology works closely with other cancer specialists to provide multidisciplinary care to cancer patients, through case discussion, sub-specialty tumor board meetings and collaborative research.

In a national effort to transform lung cancer care, NCCS in collaboration with the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) and National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (NCIS), has been awarded a S$25 million grant by the Singapore Ministry of Health.

The Lung Cancer Consortium Singapore (LCCS)

The Lung Cancer Consortium Singapore (LCCS) was established in 2007, with the aim to bring together the clinical and research community in order to advance the diagnosis and management of thoracic cancers. All disciplines involved in the study and care of lung cancer patients are invited to participate, including public health practitioners and researchers, respiratory physicians, thoracic surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, scientists, radiation oncology, medical oncology and allied health. Both public and private sector clinicians across all hospitals collaborate with research institutions in Singapore in order to better understand the origins of lung cancer, as well as introduce improved interventions and novel therapies for cancer patients.

Through this multidisciplinary network, a repository of curated biospecimens with relevant clinical data has been established. The translational platform has been possible through institutional support, academic and industry grants, and philanthropy.

The Asian Thoracic Oncology Research Group (ATORG)

The Asian Thoracic Oncology Research Group (ATORG) was formed in 2016 with the vision to be the central coordinating platform for multi-center clinical trials and translational research for thoracic malignancies in the Asia-Pacific region. ATORG aims to establish a Pan-Asia Pacific working group of Key Opinion Leaders in thoracic cancers for scientific oversight and coordination of clinical studies aimed at evaluating the therapeutic efficacy of new drugs for the treatment.
